Our Thanksgiving was pretty low key this year. We didn't travel anywhere...not even to the cousin get -together Thanksgiving night, because the kids got fevers and coughs.
Wednesday night, Uncle David, came for dinner.
The kids were super excited to have our own "feast." They all picked their favorite foods.
Reid requested - turkey {easy--thanks son :)}
Owen requested - acorn squash
Mom asked for - mashed potatoes
Dad wanted - bacon wrapped water chestnuts and egg nog
We threw in rolls, deviled eggs, Martha Stewart from scratch creamed corn {a tradition for us now}, a pickled relish tray, banana cream pie, cream cheese frosted pumpkin rolls...
...only afterward did we realize how non-health conscious our whole meal was. Well...we'll try to be better next year I guess!
I made a cherry pie and a fruit salad to go over to the cousins since we were planning on going until the last minute.
It was a nice long weekend to lay low and rest, but I'll admit. Starting back to school and a schedule was very nice!
We were most thankful this year for each other, our warm home {we have been having a lot of snow up here}, our needs being met, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and Owen is super thankful for squids! {his new obsession} :)

Wow your Thanksgiving looked beautiful!
